Snake skin

When I was gardening last weekend, I came across this leftover snakeskin that a snake had recently shed and left behind. I was really excited to find it until I realized that if there was a snakeskin, then there was probably a snake. I stopped weeding shortly afterwards. Isn't it interesting how the colors and pattern of the countertop mimic the snakeskin's.

I'd like to say cool! but my fingers are typing ewwww!

This reminds me: have you seen a TV commercial running recently for Travelers Insurance? It involves a snake and rabbits. The snake has a baby rattle attached to its tail. Doug and I have spent way too much time trying to figure out what advertising agency decided that using a snake, a realistic looking snake not a cartoon snake, would make people want to buy their product. Almost everyone is repelled by snakes. Don Draper would never have allowed the use of a snake in a commercial.

My aunt lived in McLean and I remember a black snake curled up in a laundry basket once.
